The successful applicant will be ideally between 4 to 8 years of qualification (although candidates with slightly less or more experience are still encouraged to apply). You must have an excellent technical knowledge of employment law and will have handled both contentious and non contentious employment cases. Ideally you will also have first hand experience of attending and managing the tribunal process. You will report directly to the head of department and will also be responsible for managing some of the junior fee earners. Marketing and business development are also key to this role as is client facing responsibilities.

Head of Private Client - Partner
Regional Firm

This regional firm based in Staffordshire has recently hired two new partners as part of a strategic recruitment drive. The ethos of the firm is to service regional clients to an exceptionally high standard as well as continuing to work with national companies.

The firm has recently embarked upon a succession planning exercise and has identified the need to appoint a Head of Department for the Private Client team. There is at present an existing caseload. However this is an area of the practice the firm is keen to grow. The successful applicant for this position will ideally already be a partner within a leading regional firm. You will have an excellent technical knowledge and should have experience of handling wills, trusts, probate and disputes surrounding all of these. Tax is also a key element as is a basic knowledge of elements of conveyancing work as some of the clients are landed gentry and will need advice on matters around this.

However the firm is also looking for the successful applicant to have an excellent network of contacts which can be used to further build the practice. The appointed individual will also be responsible for growing and developing the team. This role comes with a high level of autonomy and the support of the partnership.

As the team's caseload increases they are now looking to hire a number of assistants into the team. Successfully candidates will need to have an excellent technical knowledge in all areas connected to residential development such as: Site acquisition and disposal, Consortium developments, Collaborations/joint ventures, Options and pre-emptions and will need to be able to come into the team and hit the ground running. The client base covers the major top ten house builders as well as some smaller niche boutique clients.

For exceptional candidates who are already qualified in commercial property but who do not have any direct experience of Residential development but who do now want to specialise within this field, applications will also be considered.
