Executive Search
Search is more often than not used when the assignment is very specific and there are a finite number of candidates available in the market. Positions this methodology is most frequently used for tend to be either specialist positions or at a senior level.
A consultant will visit the office prior to undertaking any search and will request to meet with all key individuals involved at whatever level with the specific piece of recruitment. A detailed job brief will be discussed enabling the consultant to understand the reason for the recruitment of the specific position, the firm, the duties and responsibilities of the hired candidate and any other relevant issues which may arise throughout the process.
Once it has been established that Executive Search is indeed the correct methodology a detailed timetable of events will then be presented to the client. This will detail the timescales and process which will be taking place and also outlines a communication agreement between both parties in order to achieve a smooth running process. All documentation which may be presented to the candidate is also prepared by the consultant and this is approved by the client. Once this has taken place the consultant will commence research into the specific market and within a pre-agreed timeframe will present a list of target companies where key individuals have been identified. This is then discussed at a further meeting and any candidates who are to be "fast -tracked" or alternatively removed from the search list are identified. The individuals concerned are then approached in the strictest of confidence where initial interest is established. A further conversation will then take place "out of hours" and a face to face meeting will then be arranged between the candidate and the consultant.
Where the market has a limited pool of candidates it is recommended that once the suitability of a candidate has been established, the client interviews immediately to prevent any unnecessary delays. In this instance a "rolling shortlist" will be presented to the client. The consultant will attend all interviews, preparing interview notes and observations for the client and will de-brief accordingly. Once the successful candidate has been identified the consultant will work closely with the client ensuring the best possible offer is put to the candidate. Once this offer has been accepted the consultant will then guide the candidate through handing their notice in and throughout the time of their notice period.
A review process is also conducted with the client once the assignment has been successfully completed.
